Who are you and why do I love you, Nelly Ben. Finally found something that seems to have tapped into the shimmying waters of my early-morning dreams. With projects named “Airspace Activism” and “The Other Volcano” I get the feeling that her idea of blast-off is the kind of morning toast I’m looking for. Any time I see someone getting as weird as this woman is/does I feel like tucking a feather into the head-dress of distortion — let’s forget about food, photo projects are the new consumption. On a current project:
“Super K Sonic BOOOOum consists of a fifteen meter long ‘river’ of water running through a tunnel lined with thousands of silver balloons(photomultiplier tubes). A boat is pulled through the tunnel on a submerged track using a pulley system, with sound and lighting effects. Members of the public can ride in the boat accompanied by the physicists working on the Super Kamiokande in Japan. This installation is designed to deliver physically thrilling experiences; it aims to bring the audiences on a journey through the physics of the impossible.”
Physics of the impossible is all you had to say – I’m in.
For my little Lauryn Gerstle, who left our tiny island crop for bigger and better skyscrapers. May she get as weird in NYC as she did on any given day of the week in the Kaimuki area. Preferably close to the Goodwill.

db amorin documents my non-sequitors via twitter. although a large amount of them belong to me, some of them are collected from conversations precious db overhears at morning brew or in line at the chiropractor (or whatever that guy does on a saturday night). you can rest assured that i was definitely the source of “Did you know that indians get stoned just by looking at the fucking moon”. besides being a stand-up friend and mammal to any crying gypsy getting off of a bus, db runs an free online experimental music label called deepwhitesound and if you haven’t heard of it you need to grow up and get a job because im tired of doing this kind of shit for you. his art can be found at chemotion along with photos of him in monster drag or anything that could possibly freak you out about gender. i choose to think of him as a carnivorous swamp because any other categorization is too simplified.
