Felix Vallotton
painted this image of Zeus kidnapping Europa (second runner up in my completely sensical affection for Zeus cow-ing around for the ladies, Io no ka oi).  Europa, the daughter of Oceanus, was tricked into riding Zeus to the island of Crete, which became her home.  Both Io and Europa are said to be somewhat moon-bodied.

megaMemory of being 17 and stupid in Paris with nicole naone (2005 and full of nothingness); photos of sculpture at the Jardin de Tuileries by Terry Richardson (who has a tumblr, o and if youre looking for photos of jared leto mr richardson is posting them Constantly); the simple bigness of the feet endears me, so hard not to love the lines, the stomach, the hair; making legitimate effort to back away from a re-fascination with roman sculpture en masse, if only to sway myself from acquisition (a fortifier of new love and dually a new dwell, always furnishing for the future, very real dream manifestations of museum quality marble sculpture near a pygmy ficus and coy blue light at 15 watts)

“Two sculptures are hung from a mechanism that gently grinds them into each other. The sculptures will slide against one another for many years creating new unimagined form. This image is a detail of the sculptures the mechanism is 9 feet above and not in this photo.” Jonathan Schipper
